The IsUnicodeEnabled method determines whether calls to Unicode system functions are enabled. When Unicode is enabled IXFile internally calls Unicode versions of Windows system functions; when Unicode is disabled ANSI versions are called. Unicode is enabled by default on Windows NT, 2000 and XP systems.
BOOL IsUnicodeEnabled(void);
IsUnicodeEnabled() As Boolean

The method has no parameters.

Return Values

The return value is TRUE if calls to Unicode system functions are enabled; FALSE otherwise.

Unicode support simplifies developing applications for Unicode systems; there is only one version of IXFile library which can be used for both Unicode and non-Unicode applications depending on your needs.

Unicode system calls should not be confused with Unicode text data. See Unicode Support for more information on Unicode system calls, Unicode methods and Unicode text data.

On non-Unicode systems method always returns FALSE.
